BAC has been a nonprofit community base for art and art education on Bainbridge Island since 1948.

Opening Fri, Sept 5

Pattern

Sep 5–26, 2025

This September, we’re exploring patterns in works of art. From recurring sequences of shapes to lines, colors, and textures, these patterns can be predictable or completely surprising. They can create harmony, rhythm, and often provide structure to the work of art. Patterns can be overt and obvious, or be a faint echo of other visual elements in the piece.

Alongside the Pattern show, we’ll also have an exhibition of Johnpaul Jones fabulous drawings.

  • The Figure Simplified

    with Amy Dapice

It can take years to learn to draw the figure, but this inventive course speeds up the process by getting to the heart of what you really need to know to feel confident sketching people whether working from life, a photograph, or your imagination. This course combines techniques found in gesture drawing and fashion illustration to teach you how to render believable, expressive figures in graphite and ink.
