About Us

Our Mission:

BAC fosters creativity and connection through the transformative power of art by supporting diverse local and regional artists, providing arts education, and cultivating a community where art and artists thrive.

Our Values

Our work in the community is guided by the following values:

  • We spotlight and support emerging regional artists whose work can inspire our community.

  • We seek out and represent diverse backgrounds, identities, and perspectives.

  • We enrich the arts and cultural fabric of the Bainbridge Island community.

About Bainbridge Arts & Crafts

Established in 1948, Bainbridge Arts & Crafts is a nonprofit gallery and arts organization dedicated to supporting local and regional artists; providing arts education, outreach, and scholarships; and sparking a love of art in our community. We partner with Pacific Northwest artists and organizations to foster a vibrant arts culture on Bainbridge Island.

One of Bainbridge Island’s founding arts and cultural institutions, BAC is a place where artistic connections are forged. Through exhibitions, arts education and programs, artist representation, and creative collaborations that foster a culture of diverse artistic expression, BAC creates a window to the world: a place where creative ideas are exchanged and artists are discovered, celebrated, and amplified.

We operate one of the region’s largest nonprofit galleries, creating opportunities for artists to advance their work while serving thousands of local youth, adults, and seniors throughout our community. Our work in the community includes:

  • Representing and supporting emerging local and regional artists, providing opportunities for them to sell work and expand their influence;

  • Jurying and exhibiting contemporary regional arts and crafts;

  • Providing sales opportunities to Northwest artists;

  • Supporting arts education through the presentation of student work in an annual exhibition;

  • Awarding art scholarships to gifted high school students and young adults;

  • Bringing art into our community through on- and off-site classes, special events, and workshops;

  • Engaging with other  local arts and service organizations through innovative partnerships;

  • Lending art to local hospitals and other community establishments.
