VIN FAUX: IMAGINARY WINE LABELS

Joan Peter and Laurie Lewis, Cabernet, 2010. Neon and mixed media. We did an exhaustive survey of wine labels and found that they lacked a certain je ne sais quoi. BAC artists know better! They’ve invented Cabaret Sauvignon, Coat du Roan, and the one and only Que Shiraz Shiraz?

Germaine Austin, Lynn Brunelle, Meredith Chernick, Diane Culhane, Brian Fisher, P.C. Harper, Gennielynn Martin, Deborah Peek, Joan Peter and Laurie Lewis, Sally Robison, Stephen Rock, Jessica Spring, and Diane Walker.

BottlesSherri Grossbauer, Stoneware Bottle.

After considering wine labels, our curatorial thoughts naturally turned to bottles. BAC glass and ceramic artists responded to our invitation with their customary originality and enthusiasm. Ann Reynolds Pearl plans to bring sake sets; Karen Buhler will have messages in bottles; and Barry McAlister reports that she’s thinking outside the bottle.
